Naturally, in an Election Year we are looking for suitable candidates to stand as Members of Parliament, representing the Motorists, Equity & Unity Party in the constituencies of Hove, Brighton Pavilion, Brighton Kemp Town, Lewes, Bexhill & Battle, Hastings & Rye, Canterbury and Dover.   We have campaigned since the start of the party for the completion of the Honiton to Dover road connection.   [If asked which party we represent, we represent the Me and You Party !  See our LOGO]

Even in these cash stressed times the construction of 3-lane, alternative overtaking roads are an effective, affordable option.   This system, used between Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells for many years, and used extensively in parts of Northern France would bring trade to areas that are at present poorly served, the entire route from Lewes to Folkstone served by inadequate 2-way roads, from Beddingham roundabout (outside Lewes) on the A27, eventually changing to the A259, twisting and turning, making this route a negative choice for traffic requiring unhindered passageway to destinations further west, which results in much traffic using the M20/M25.   Hotels and other catering establishments miss out on much continental traffic because of this poor infrastructure.   Many businesses are deterred from setting up in the area because of this poor access, meaning that vital jobs go elsewhere.

If this Southern Highway was completed access to Manston airport would become much easier.  Should, some time in the future this highway be extended in East Kent, then access to Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs would revitalise this part of the county.

With representation in Kent (Canterbury, Folkstone & Hythe or Dover) we would be proposing for improvements in the next 20 years for a Ring-Road serving Canterbury in order to finish the improvements to Kent’s hard-pressed road system.   [An example of a Ring-road system can be found in Caen, France, which reduces city traffic to the minimum, improving delivery times and reducing pollution for pedestrians.

If we have representatives in this part of East Sussex and Kent we will be fighting for such improvements.
